Over 1,000 infections found in overnight lockdowns

The government on Monday found 1,063 preliminary positive Covid infections during overnight lockdowns of eight buildings in Yuen Long, Kowloon City and Aberdeen.

Authorities found 264 preliminary positive cases after testing around 2,580 residents in Shin Yung House, Shin Oi House and Shin Leung House of Long Shin Estate in Yuen Long.

Three blocks in Kai Ching Estate in Kowloon City were put under lockdown and around 15 percent of the 4,950 residents tested were found to have come down with the disease.

Hoi Chun Court and Hoi Chu Court in Aberdeen Centre accounted for 55 of the preliminary positive cases.

Residents with negative test results have since been allowed to leave their homes again.
