Officials issue compulsory testing orders over sewage

Health officials on Saturday issued compulsory testing notices in response to sewage testing positive for Covid in Tuen Mun and Wong Tai Sin.

The government said anyone who had been to Block 1 & 2, Phase 1 of Tai Hing Garden in Tuen Mun; or Yue Tung House or Kwai Tung House on Tung Tau Estate in Wong Tai Sin, should get a Covid-19 nucleic acid test, including those who have already been vaccinated.

The government also said it was handing out rapid test kits to residents, cleaners and property management staff at certain buildings in Kowloon City, Tai Po, Wan Chai and Central and Western due to sewage testing positive for the coronavirus.

It said the tests would be distributed at Kai Ching Estate, Tai Po Tai Yuen Estate, Eightland Gardens, Jade Plaza, Treasure Garden and Mei Sun Building; and around Magazine Gap Road, and Cotton Tree Drive.

Later, the Centre for Health Protection added a list of nearly 60 locations in Hong Kong that were subject to compulsory testing.
