Report: Moroccan navy rescues 192 illegal migrants

RABAT – Moroccan navy units rescued 192 illegal migrants off the kingdom's Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, the official news agency MAP reported Tuesday.

Citing a military source, MAP said most of the migrants rescued in the operation overnight on Monday are from sub-Saharan Africa, including women and children.

They were traveling in small flimsy boats and jet skis. Some even ventured to swim, according to the report.

They received first aid onboard before being transported to the nearest ports of the North African country, it said.
