Yuen Long lockdown finds 264 Covid cases

The government on Monday said an overnight lockdown of three public housing blocks in Yuen Long had detected 264 preliminary positive Covid-19 cases.

That’s around 10 percent of the people who underwent tests.

Shin Yung House, Shin Oi House and Shin Leung House of Long Shin Estate were sealed off for compulsory testing on Sunday after sewage samples taken in the area tested positive of the coronavirus.

Officials said 2,580 residents underwent testing and they were following up on 46 indeterminate cases.

Residents were free to leave their homes as long as they could show negative test results.
