Top pro-democracy figures Jimmy Lai, Martin Lee and Albert Ho on Wednesday appealed against their convictions and sentences for their roles in an anti-government protest on August 18, 2019.
Last week, Lai was jailed for 12 months in prison while Lee and Ho were each given suspended sentences after they were found guilty of organising and taking part in an unauthorised assembly.
Six others were convicted for their roles in the protest.
Lai is also appealing against his sentence for taking part in an unauthorised march in Wan Chai on August 31, 2019. He was given a 14-month jail term in total in connection with the two demonstrations.
