RTHK assistant director Brian Chow resigns

RTHK said on Monday that assistant director of broadcasting, Brian Chow, had tendered his resignation citing family reasons.

He will leave the post on July 9.

Chow, 50, has worked at the broadcaster for over 30 years.

In a statement, RTHK thanked him for his service and contribution over the years.

The station said it will work out necessary personnel arrangements “in accordance with operational needs and the Civil Service Regulations” following Chow’s departure.

A number of appointments at RTHK have been announced in recent weeks.

Former director of administration Kitty Choi has been made an “adviser to the director of broadcasting”, to provide guidance on the implementation of the government’s review report on RTHK’s editorial management and the mechanism for handling complaints.

Senior administrative officer Freda Cheung and two officers from the Communications Authority have also been appointed to provide “special support” to the station.
