The government on Monday suspended Korean Air passenger flights from Seoul until Sunday, April 10.
The move comes after three passengers on Korean Air flight KE607 tested positive for Covid-19 on arrival in Hong Kong on Saturday. A week-long suspension of an airline’s services on a particular route kicks in if three passengers on a single flight are found to be infected.
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) was also investigating a further 12 imported cases on Monday, in addition to 1,577 locally-acquired cases, as detected by nucleic acid tests. A further 1,549 cases showed up in self-test results.
