Over a thousand infections found in latest lockdowns

The government on Sunday found 1,019 preliminary positive Covid infections during overnight lockdowns on seven buildings in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon City, Kwai Chung and Aberdeen.

Authorities found the cases after testing around 7,719 residents in Tak Pui House, Tak Yu House and Tak Yiu House at Tak Long Estate, Lai Huen House at Lai Kok Estate, Hoi Shan Court and Hoi Wu Court at Aberdeen Centre, and Shek Tai House in Shek Lei (I) Estate.

In the three blocks under lockdown in Tak Long Estate in Kowloon City, authorities found 678 preliminary positive infections out of some 4,700 residents tested. Authorities also found 60 indeterminate cases.

Lai Huen House at Lai Kok Estate in Sham Shui Po accounted for 146 of the preliminary positive cases, while 148 infections were found in the block in Shek Lei Estate.

Nearly 50 cases were uncovered in the two residential buildings in Aberdeen Centre.
