Sports Commissioner Yeung Tak-keung said Hong Kong people can “rest assured” that they will be able to watch next year’s Asian Games in Hangzhou on television.
In an athletes’ sharing session organised by Hong Kong News-Expo on Sunday, Yeung said the government is paying close attention to securing the broadcasting rights for the Games, which will be held in Hangzhou in September.
He said people had reacted positively to the live broadcasts of this year’s Olympic, Paralympic and National games.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam said earlier Hong Kong was seeking broadcasting rights for the upcoming Asian Games, and possibly the 2024 Paris Olympics as well.
