Police are investigating after a 53-year-old man motorcycle rider died of injuries sustained in a crash that left him trapped under a van in Tsing Yi on Wednesday night.

The driver of the van, a 33-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is being held while New Territories South police investigate.

The two vehicles collided at a roundabout as they headed towards Kwai Chung on Container Port Road South at about 11.30pm.

Firefighters were called in to free the rider from beneath the van. He was taken, unconscious to the nearby Princess Margaret Hospital where he was declared dead shortly after midnight.
