Man arrested over 2019 Yuen Long mob attacks

Police on Monday said they had arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the mob attacks in and around Yuen Long MTR Station on July 21, 2019.

A force spokesman said the man, surnamed Tang, was arrested in Tsim Sha Tsui on Sunday. He was being held on suspicion of rioting and conspiracy to wound with intent.

To date, police have arrested more than 60 people in connection with the rampage, including alleged gang members and people injured in the attack, which put dozens of people in hospital.

In July, the District Court jailed seven people for to up to seven years, after they were convicted of rioting and other offences.
