John Lee in home quarantine after helper infected

The government said on Tuesday that Chief Secretary John Lee is undergoing home quarantine after his foreign domestic helper tested preliminary positive for Covid-19.

A spokesman for Lee’s office said the minister and his family had taken rapid tests which came back negative.

The spokesman added that Lee and his family would submit deep throat saliva specimens to the Department of Health for tests.

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Edward Yau was to join an online Legco meeting on Tuesday afternoon on Lee’s behalf.

Legco’s finance committee was to discuss the government’s plan to inject HK$27 billion into its anti-epidemic fund.
