RTHK host tests preliminary positive for Covid

The broadcaster said it was informed of the case on Friday morning by the host who works for its Putonghua channel.

RTHK said she had hosted a show at one of its studios in the past three days, and noted that three staff members had lunch with her on Thursday.

The broadcaster said it will work with the authorities to trace her close contacts, and Broadcasting House on Broadcast Drive will be thoroughly disinfected.

The Centre for Health Protection said on Friday a 53-year-old woman, who works in the media industry, was at a party attended by 170 people at a restaurant in Wan Chai on Monday.

She arrived after 6pm, and ate and drank there for two hours.

Health authorities said she left after 8pm, and then returned after 9pm to socialise with other guests, and it’s not clear yet if she came into contact with a 37-year-old woman, who’s now a confirmed case.
